I have to wear noise cancelling headphones when I play the 360. The fans, the dvd drive and the powerbrick are all incredibly loud. My 360 doesn't use the Jasper chipset (my brother's does). While his 360 is quieter than mine, I never hear mine unless I'm doing late night gaming (when the volume is almost all the way down). And even then its the disc drive, not the fans.
