However, it's been a long while since they started that policy.  Moreover, while it makes my skin crawl to be an Apple apologist it's a rather new phenomenon to allow continual updates at all and they're never guaranteed.  If you wanted to protest rebranding deception you've missed that boat.<br><br>I don't doubt there is some motivation to sucker punch you and tempt an upgrade.  But with the older hardware you might be hating life.
