hmm,....MeeGo for phones to be released in alpha on June 30th followed by an announcement that N900 drops to $350.- the next day. I guess someone is trying to create a buzz about MeeGo, allowing people to try it hands-on on existing hardware and making some money while they are at it ;-)

Its interesting that so many people (and blogs) rah-rah about the latest iOS and Android yet never realize how much of a power-play Nokia and Intel are engaging in with MeeGo. You can run real fullsized linux programs on this thing. You can even run something Open Office, though that is still bit too much for the processor/memory.

Can be rooted with a single command, Nokia condoned, and running amazing stuff like full 2 way ssh, sshfs, vnc, mplayer, without hacking and no worries about updates breaking everything, over the air os updates, fm transmitter (love it), fully integrated skype (can't tell the difference between regular / skype phone calls), the best browser on any mobile and flash is included, the list is pretty much endless...

Treos and Blackberries were the ones that spurred off the smartphone movement, and Treos had touchscreens.
