Put a T-Mo logo on the N1 and there you have it, a T-Mo made phone. FYI N1 is as good or better than competitor phone. Same guts with different appearance. getting old? What does the Nexus One not have that you want? 720p video recording? That's about it. The Nexus One was so much better than everything else on the market when it launched, everything else is just catching up.

You pay $20 less per month by not signing a 2 year agreement (and therefore waving your right to a phone stipend). If you do the arithmetic, you come out with saving $480 dollars over a 2 year contract period. Subtracting that from the cost of the phone, you get $49, which is lower than ~$200 for another phone in its class.

I can't speak to the process of signing a 2 year contract, but Google list it at $179.

I agree with your premise that the fact that you can't see them in stores and buy them from the store is a major detractor, but the phone itself is actually cheaper than the others, significantly.
