I think it's a really good deal. Free games every month, discounts, early beta access, Qore, full game demos, automatic downloads of updates (PS3 turns on and off automatically to do this). Yeah, that is kind of disappointing but that only applies to the games, not the add-ons and themes. I still think it's worth it though.

BTW, there is no free trial. Oh, ok. I'm basically trying it too but I think I'm better off getting the 1-year and get the 3 months free. If I decide I don't like it at the end of the 15 months, I just won't renew but it's a much better ceal than the 3-month. They don't take that much space, but if you were running out of space, you can get a 500GB WD Scorpio Blue (5400 rpm) for $60 on Amazon. If you want a 7200rpm drive, you can get a Hitachi for $80.

There is absolutely no way for you to upgrade an Xbox that way even if you wanted to; and if there were you'd have to pay a ridiculous amount for a freaking proprietary HDD.

And of course, if for some reason yuo have a lot of data in the form of movies and music on your PS3, you can always store those in a huge external HDD and plug it in to on of the USB ports. Again, that's impossible on the XBox.
