Unfortunately, the Captivate will be the only Galaxy S phone with side-loading disabled which is kind of a deal breaker. It'd be nice to wrong on this one.

Does it really matter if every other carrier has the same phone? That really doesn't degrade the actual phone itself. This is one of the things I like about the Galaxy S phones. Time and time again, there's the old post that AT&T explicitly stated that iPhone was top of the line in their line up and people are to start with Android as the lower end starter phone and eventually upgrade to the iPhone. Apple needs this to keep it's price a premium too (not the 32GB iPhone 4 was what 299? not 199! like the EVO for example). Toyota follows this strategy with their Lexus line.

Hence, there will never be a better Android phone in their line up--it's their strategy and WHY they have a exclusive agreement with Apple.

As long as Apple spends more advertising than its competitors, it will continue to build more market share as the market grows. Works just like politics: just ask Meg Whitman or Mike Bloomberg.

Verizon and Sprint know they have a superior line up, but they rather let the lineup fall on it's merit than spend $$$ on ads. And the budget for the Droid ads shows if they spend the ad cash, they can compete. As you can see T-Mobile is busting *ss with it's plans (but no highly desired phones) ... Sprint has the "edge" on it's biggest competition by at MOST $10 but NOT as big of a gap as it was trying to portray in it's chart. It's all a matter of preference & folk must also consider which provider has better coverage in their area. It would suck *ss to have a buy device but get little to no coverage where you live.
