What are people doing with their mousepads that it needs to be so tough?  Isn't it just sitting in on your desk for years on end?<br><br>Well, I suppose the Teflon surface would make the mouse slide around more easily, thereby reducing fatigue, but I'm not sure if that's worth $30. You can have the best mouse in the world, but if you mat grips, has bumps, etc, you might as well give up. I run a Razor eXactmat myself. Mouse pads are a holdout from that period.
