I have all of my Facebook Push notifications, Twitter Direct Messages, IM conversations, Emails, SMS conversations all in a unified messages inbox. There's no need to switch between applications because they're all routed through BIS's push system, which is a reason why BlackBerries have amazing battery life.

iMiiTH

Comments on BlackBerry Curve 9300 gets FCC approval? I've personally owned a Bold 9000, Bold 9700, and a Storm2. I've supported many others at work as well.

You make some good points, and those were the exact reasons I owned the above BBs. But unfortunately that wasn't enough for me. BBM was, and still is, fantastic. But at this point, everyone I know has unlimited texting, so I can just as easily use that on my iPhone or Nexus One and have equally instant conversations.

BB's push email is fine, but I get push email on my iPhone as well. With my iPhone I also get a reasonably good looking email client as well, which can format emails perfectly and quickly, unlike the BB email client (which was far improved in OS 4.5/5).

Looking at the apps, the iPhone (and Android phones) just kick BB in the arse. BB screens are small, and many have craptastically low resolution (like the one in this post, AFAIK). Even the ones with a nice resolution, like the Bold 9700 or 9650, look really nice, but the apps are still meh. It's really hard for devs to create a really good looking app on BB, where it's not on iPhone or Android (or WebOS to be fair).

Bottom line is, yes, I've owned plenty of BBs and wouldn't hate having one dedicated to just BBM/texting/email for the keyboard. Otherwise, keep them away from me. They're an absolute pain to deal with at work because most people don't really know how to use them, and the fact we have to use a BESX server for simple Exchange connectivity irks me.

MRCUR

Comments on BlackBerry Curve 9300 gets FCC approval? I'm also kind of tired of BB, but what the OS does now you can do it also on Android, iOS, WebOs and even WinMo 7, and they've been doing it before these OS even came out, so whats really missing from them besides the UI polish that's what really catching the eyes of much of the non business consumers

odemata

Comments on BlackBerry Curve 9300 gets FCC approval? Berry isn't competing with Android or ios. They are their own deal and they will always sell. People on this board are kids who play games on their phones. Berry is for business. And they will continue to be #1 in that arena. Some don't need games and want a solid keyboard. Call them ugly. But people like them. The president carries one. Anyone who cares about security does. And most companies only have bb servers. Android and ios are awesome but blackberries are never going away. Not everyone is 16 and wants to play need for speed. Some of us actually need to hit our work servers and make money.

That being said I carry android and blackberry. I'm no fan boy.
