You're just pointing out that a fool and their money are quickly parted, while the OP is saying that software in these things stink. Mac consumers have more money and are sold by marketing, it's a companies first job to make money. This software, only to a certain point can help their sales without actually in many cases detracting from a user's experience and turning off informed buyers.

That said, I think there is a place for these things, and hopefully all would be easily formated to remove any bloatware, otherwise you're just locking down something way too much that doesn't need locking.

@pika, I wonder if the simple format protection actually is a good design for n00bs, seeing as how maybe they will format and lose that software that perhaps they did appreciate. A simple uninstall might suit power users and n00bs alike.

juanvaldez

Comments on Hitachi unveils LifeStudio content-aware external hard drives, we go hands-on

@djbentley
Thats because macs and mac accessories have a luxury tax of 20-25%, didn't you overspend on the computer too?

rstoplabe14

Comments on Hitachi unveils LifeStudio content-aware external hard drives, we go hands-on

@pika2000 Amen brother

LANjackal

Comments on Hitachi unveils LifeStudio content-aware external hard drives, we go hands-on

Couple questions: I thought you were going to start doing review cards, no?

Also, I wish you would note whether hardware uses Windows 7's Device Stage or not.
