Basing this on the fact that it's just big enough for a thumb, I'm taking two guesses:

1. It's a variable function button that disappears under the unibody, like they patented earlier.

2. It's a small sample screen. They're being used in stores, I believe, and at Microsoft events, but there doesn't seem to be any interest in mass-producing them. Of course, they probably wouldn't sell too many for what they would cost. This could be it.

I think it'll be more like an Apple Media device than an Apple TV. It'll do TV, music, radio, etc, and its interface will be a touch screen.

I have a PS3, which people refer to as a multi-media device. I've always disagreed with that because it's a device that requires my TV to be turned on (unless via PSP). I don't want my TV turned on to listen to music. This is where all next-gen consoles fail as media devices. They require the TV to be on to do anything. It definitely seems like a small Mp3 touch player.

I'm guessing this is goinnto be dedicated to playing movies and music and possibly even Internet, but it's targeted at younger kids/teens and will be very cheap, like $99 or $149.

I personally like the idea, I think a 1.5inch youch screen would be adorable and my little sister would absolutely love it, I know it wouldn't break as easy as an iPod touch, but if it did I wouldn't even care bcause they'd be so cheap.

It will be interesting to see the OS on this.

I'm guessing it's very simple, it has a set of apps like Settings, Music, Video, Safari, Photos, Radio all aligned Vertically and you scroll around by swiping left to right, with the status bar always showing just like the other ios.

There's also a possibility that there will be a dedicated app store for this called like the app store mini where you can download mini apps and stuff :)
