There are actually some very well priced sony laptops. If you want a blu ray player, they are by far your best bet.

What did I pay for this amazing Machine? $999. And yes, it compared nicely specs wise (other than video card) against the 15" ($2000) and 17" ($2500) Macbook Pros.

Sony's Battery Care feature is bloody brilliant. I have no idea why everyone doesn't have such an awesome little piece of software.

Btw, I returned a Sager with integrated video due to a RATTLING keyboard and replaced it with this Sony. I am so glad I did. It's just a far better machine no matter how you cut it.

I bought a brown 30GB original Zune on Newegg back in the day because it was priced at around $99. In other words, I literally relate.

Although there are limits. I can respect a company that doesn't take design risks so long as their hardware works well and the design is functional. The aesthetic attention(and durability) Apple's gives to its laptops IS the best, bar none, and that's embarrassing considering the amount of PC manufacturers there are.

If you knew anything about computing on a corporate level, you'd know Macs are great to work with. I run a Windows 7 machine and it's a bitch to do any sort of real diagnostics of my network, thus why I have a Linux server sitting under my desk under VMWare ESXi.

I've noticed the tone of your posts that have anything to do with Apple as just dismissive fanboyism. If you'd ever worked on a Viao you'd realise how bad they are. Unless you vanilla it up there's Sony crap everywhere slowing it down and interfering with the OS. An end-user doesn't have the knowledge, nor the compulsion to purchase a separate version of Windows, to get the machine to run as it should. You can get Sony laptops with out all the bloatware simple as checking a box on the customize site. Sony Viao laptops are very nice. Also if OSX was great to work with why have non of the Top 500 companies switched over? OSX is a paint once you do anything intensive.

The swirls on the envy are very understated and actually look and feel really nice.

By contrast, the MBP has, from some angles, an overly rugged, unpolished look to it. Don't get me wrong, it is an amazing looking laptop, and maybe better than the Envy overall, but it is far from perfect. Fortune 500 companies are switching over (or are already there... considering Apple is a Fortune 500 company), and those that are not usually host the largest botnets on the planet. Aside from this, the world is not made up of just Fortune 500 companies.

You are right, Mac OSX is not Linux, it's a Mach kernel with a BSD core. So closer to UNIX. Your point makes no sense. You are essentially saying that BSD isn't as powerful as Linux.
