Desktop computers are generally now used by everyone in the family, in more of a media hub/server fashion. The PERSONAL devices are becoming smaller and smaller, until they are all hand held devices that can seamlessly dock with larger displays and additional peripherals. They had one large monopoly, otherwise known as their global government, led by the Grand Nagus. In a "free" capitalist society, real monopolies would never have a chance to truly endure. They'd always fall eventually due to market forces.<br><br>Contracts are also a cornerstone of capitalist and free societies. I believe a rule of acquisition is "a contract is a contract is a contract... but only between Ferengi." A society that operated like that would have extremely limited real world economic success.<br><br>Wow, I can't believe I'm debating sci-fi-conmics.
