My sandisk cruzer has been through the washing machine at least 5 times and it still works perfectly. I dropped my kingston into a intake of a 1/8 hp ducted fan (for hobby aircraft) and low and behold the case survived, the connector did not... and the data came off with alligator clips and a USB-A pinout adapter.
