Your iPhone, and pretty much all current phones, will soon be rendered obsolete by newer network technologies. The iPhone is so much harder to transfer information to other devices outside the Apple ecosystem. With the Droid, you can reuse the memory in other devices or simply transfer the data on the cards by inserting them into a laptop, using any old usb micro cable, using the phone's wifi or bluetooth, etc. You can sell the memory cards. And finally, unlike the iPhone, the Droid is much less likely to become obsolete. Look at the original iPhone. It is useless now and can't even be upgraded to iOS 4. Heck, even the 3g didn't get the most important features. Yet, the G1 just got a Froyo build which puts it at the forefront of Android features and compatibility. When you look at both first gen devices, which has more potential for resale? And now that the Android hardware is blazing fast and nicely designed, the resale value goes up. You live in a fairy tale.
