Wow! At $149 on contract, available on Amazon & Walmart, and a release for every major US carrier, this phone is going to sell exceptionally well.

The price is almost in the 'impulse buy' range.

I will be very interested to see the android numbers at the end of this year, especially with the Droid 2, and Gingerbread being released, and that Droid X, EVO and Droid Incredible have had some time in the market.

I figure they will sit on the Fascinate until the holiday season.

Now us Verizon subscribers need to decide what to get, Incredible, Droid X or Fascinate. The Droid X just sucks, it's a joke. The Fascinate looks nice, but I wouldn't trust Samsung to provide adequate support. The Droid X "just sucks" and is a joke!? Really? For the 2% that like to mod their phones and load custom roms, yeah it might not be the best option but for the other 98% of people it's the best phone available in terms of hardware and features.

Its a great device... but its subjective to say its the best. At best it might be considered a tie with an Evo... but i can hardly say so with Moto blur loaded up and with the lack of video calling feature...

I just came back from Verizon and, while I wouldn't say it sucks, it's not as good as I thought it would be. Side-by-side, the Incredible has a faster UI. I don't know what Moto did to it. Blur maybe? Read Gizmodo's review. I have to mostly agree with it.

Disappointed. I was thinking about getting 2 of these today. Incredible is back-ordered. No word on Fascinate (not sure about Samsung). Guess I'll wait. Hopefully the Desire HD will come to Verizon.

I have the Galaxy S. And it's great. The screen is mindblowing!
Hummingbird does fly like an eagle! And you can play almost ANY codec.. Not like the Icrap 4 phone...
DivX/VidX and many more!! with DNLA output etc..Best GPU on the market..
Actually specwise it's the best phone.. and with android on it. And before anybody even questions the "fastest" label, it is. The snapdragon, while fast, is a single-core chip based on the much older and less efficient ARM11 architecture. The hummingbird is dual core and based on the cortex A8, which is more powerful clock-for-clock. The hummingbird also has a SGX540 GPU, which is several steps above the ancient AMD GPU core in the snapdragon.
