I like to kid myself that Google is handling all my data sensitively because when you use all their products (gmail, android phone, google search, translate, latitude etc etc) it all works so well.

Couldn't agree more, these are the best articles Engadget has. And I'm looking forward to that synergetic future.

I have a problem with the phrase "over-reliant on technology", making it sound as if it's a bad thing, and bringing an example of not remembering phone numbers. Of course I don't remember phone numbers! Why should I? Do I input an IP address every time I refer to a website? Do we have police officers at every junction telling us which cars can go when? It's not about being babied, think about it like having an awesome assistant - it's not like my phone is forcing me to go and get a new bat, it's just suggesting. Sometimes relying on technology makes things better.

I kinda get the impression that Engadget is in constant anxiety from technology... Oh well, perhaps I am too naive.
