Why? It costs as much as the netbook, and at least on my netbook it already comes with an excellent color accuracy thin LED display.

But if you do use a computer outdoors a lot, maybe professionally, then I'm sure this would have a huge appeal and the price tag wouldn't be so much of an issue.
I would be willing to pay a premium for this, but $275+a voided warranty+some diy'ing is too much.
Now put this screen in a smartphone, where a much greater proportion of the power is used by the screen and it is used outdoors more often, add a sensor for automatic switching of the display... :)
