If people look at it this way: on one side there is an e-reader with a screen the same size as the Kindle DX.  The Kindle DX price has *just* dropped to $389 from $498.  The e-reader portion of the Edge is more than just an e-reader: one can highlight, annotate and scribble notes on it.  The tablet portion is bonus and its functionality and usefullness will only increase with the coming software updates. Not the sleekest device, but works well, spiffy android. SD card/USB/webcam no issues. It may be a bit rough around the edges, and it would be nice if it was faster, but it has definitely increased my productivity.
