Quick question: Did he do this for himself or for work? If he did it for and by himself, 17 months isn't that bad. I've been wanting to make a prop Proton Pack and found that it can take almost a year, and this is far more complicated. 1. The guy built two. One on contract and one for his own use.

2. He does this kind of stuff a lot and charges accordingly.
