OK so I checked equivalent prices at Tandy. A pack of 4 Eneloop AAs cost $21.99. The Eneloop charger with 4AAs costs $29.99. According to my arithmetic the cost of a charger with 6 AAs based on Tandy prices should be $29.99 plus half of $21.99, or around $41 all up. Which makes Apples price of $39 AUD look pretty reasonable.
