I know! I'm pretty livid myself. However, are there any known issues with 2.2 on Hero (hacked)? I would really love to upgrade, but I'll be damned if everything isn't working ok currently (with unrooted 2.1).

Are the speed increases really noticable?

The known issues with it on the xda forums are:

Stock camera app crashing
Notification and chargeLEDs
Autobrightness (only dims when screen is turned off)

It is pretty functional though.

Sorry to continue pestering everyone, but has anyone gone from a stock 2.1 Hero to a 2.2 hero? Where did you get your set of directions? Some of the directions I've seen have been riddled with "THIS MAY CAUSE BRICKING" and that's the last thing I want, especially since my phone is working normally. What about the battery life?

Isn't there an option in the setting to make the flash inactive till you click it?
