Most (actually, ALL) people I know who have an iphone 4 like their phone. (i myself am waiting for the white one) All the reviews were extremely positive. The flaw with the antenna is a small problem easily avoidable by using a bumper, case or avoiding touching that spot. Heck even if you touch it, the signal goes lower only in weak signal areas, even then often call does not drop. Even engadget did a poll among tech critics and a majority said they dont have any problems as such in their day-to-day usage even with this antenna flaw:

http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/13/yes-the-iphone-4-is-broken-no-the-iphone-4-is-not-broken/

The only thing why some people wanted Apple to do something for this problem is that they expect "flawless" products from apple. Now they are not God or something... its okay, all phones have their small flaws.

Now Apple is even offering free cases to solve this small problem -- after this there should be no more complaints left, (most people actually get cases anyway) -- but still there has been a wave of anti-apple emotions and propaganda brewing up -- without any logical basis.

I really fail to understand why people are just starting to cricitize apple here.. this is really not making any sense.

Even gizmodo, which is not friendly to Apple in any way, wrote a concluding piece how they disliked Apple's response in the press conference

http://gizmodo.com/5589336/apple-antennagate-and-why-its-time-to-move-on

But even after that dislike towards Apple's response, they ended their article with their final say as:

"The iPhone 4 is a fantastic phone—among the best yet made—and the antenna issue may dent its crown, but doesn't dethrone it."

Thats exactly how I feel -- even with this antenna issue (and as long as they provide a software fix for the proximity sensor issue as promised), the iphone 4 is still the best phone around.... and if the walled garden makes you feel closed, you can easily jailbreak (its one click) your phone and install anything.. The combined number of apps in the app store and in the jailbreak cydia store blow away the number of android apps.

Gaurang

Comments on Motorola takes another shot at the iPhone 4, says Droid X is 'no jacket required'

@Android sugly

you clearly have never held an X, go back to holding jobs' P

owen66

Comments on Motorola takes another shot at the iPhone 4, says Droid X is 'no jacket required'

@mot65 Love how when Apple disses another product people bitch out, but when another company disses Apple, everybody says you go girl.

Dustin

Comments on Motorola takes another shot at the iPhone 4, says Droid X is 'no jacket required'

@mot65

It's payback time for Apple - a result of all those TV ads poking fun at flaws in Vista.

Don't dish it out Apple if ya can't take it.

Ed Ferguson

Comments on Motorola takes another shot at the iPhone 4, says Droid X is 'no jacket required'

oh engadget, get over the iphone 4, you're right, it is the best Smartphone, if you're not left handed

wisconsinated

Comments on Motorola takes another shot at the iPhone 4, says Droid X is 'no jacket required'

@grkhetan

I'll tell you why people love getting back at Apple.
