Though I like what Microsoft is doing and they needed to do it with the losses because they were completely flat-lining,  I think that it would be a huge mistake to mess with a completely new UI when blackberry is still extremely popular and sales are still growing) <br><br>The main problems they had were touchscreen versions capabilities (which 6.0 and the 9800 /Storm 3 seems to handle nicely) and browser (again 6.0 and new webkit browser).  They have upgraded the media capabilities as well and streamlined/added the transitions (which can be done in 5.0 with themes, which I have made myself).<br><br>I think the problem here is that with many of the new features iOS4 is touting (e.g. partial multitasking/folders/wallpapers) are already done and done well on blackberries for years. BlackBerry subscriber account base grew 65% over the prior fiscal year to over 41 million, with a record 4.9 million net new subscriber accounts added in Q4.   BlackBerry smartphone shipments grew more than 40% over the prior fiscal year to 37 million. This is a horrible form factor.  Portrait slider or slate FTW. The browser blows. The latest BB's screen is so crisp and clear. Bright! Keyboard arguably one of the best ever. Even plays movies awesome. Nice headphones.(decent) One of yhe better batteries. But the browser blows! Please work on that so I can open up a link in my email while in the airport without looking for a dull knife to slit my wrist please. It's interesting to compare the touch version of the OS (on the 9800 video a while ago) to the non-touch version (this). Seems to translate pretty well. And it looks pretty fast and responsive.<br><br>As someone who wants a hardware keyboard, be it a slider or just a bar like this...
