2.2, my friend, and all new transitions in 3.0 that fully utilize the GPU. Although in 2.1 with animations at full, it's only the limitation of the phone that determines the jerkiness.

Nope. That's why there's a hardware button like your friend so wonderfully pointed out.

Your point? That seems to be how the iPhone and others do it. Android just keeps the process going in the background, or puts it into a low-power mode.

Actually, you go to the Market, which lists all your downloads and gives you a button to uninstall each. Also, the home screen is like the Dock and Desktop for OSX and Windows, while the "placecard" is like the menu list of programs in Windows and OSX. Next uninformed paragraph?

Oh, yes. Sense. Well, you see, that isn't a default part of Android. If you don't like it, don't get a phone with Sense. Either that or you can remove the clock. You didn't realize it was a removable widget? Oh yes. You can move it, remove it, etc. It's in no way permanent. Glad that solves that particular problem.

First of all, that's the application's problem. All of the standard functions of the phone use the hardware search key for searching email, files, and programs. In fact, most programs DON'T have a menu-search function. I actually keep the clock on the homescreen. It combined with the weather updates, the date, and the weather animations that go across the screen are actually pretty nice and helpful.

Default design should be the best? Better not move any icons around on your computer then. It should be the best, right? Better not move the furniture around in your house. Better not order anything from a restaurant that isn't "plain". That's a horrible and inflexible way to live life.
