For instance, if I were living in the dorms at Portland State University where they have free WiFi for students, I would have my 360 connect to the amenity I already pay for in my tuition as opposed to having Comcast hook up a $42.95 Internet Connection. You also can only use up to 16GB for external storage for things like game saves, and routing through your computer might create extra lag but you said you were not playing online.
