Richard Garriott wins lawsuit against NCsoft
Over a year ago, Richard Garriott filed a lawsuit against his former employer, NCsoft. There was a lot of back and forth regarding who said what, but the crux of the suit was that Garriott claimed NCsoft terminated him, costing him millions, as he was forced to sell his stock options at a bad time. EverQuest II jumps on the free-to-play bandwagon
Despite assurances as recently as last month that EverQuest II wouldn't be going free-to-play, Sony Online Entertainment recently announced that the game is doing just that ... sort of. EverQuest II Extended is slated for a beta launch on August 17th, and features a separate server set providing all of the game's original content via the insanely popular F2P business model.

Hulkageddon III ends with an estimated 288 billion ISK in damage
Much to the dismay of miners everywhere, EVE Online's infamous Hulkageddon event made a return earlier this month. In this irregularly-scheduled fan-run event, ruthless pilots compete to kill as many mining barges as possible within a short period of time. After converting the ISK total to US Dollars via EVE's PLEX system, the damages at the end of the event neared $17,000.

Guild Wars 2 level cap confirmed at 80
It's been a huge question for months: What will be the level cap for Guild Wars 2? Eager fans have grabbed onto every piece of information looking for clues over time, and now Isaiah "Izzy" Cartwright, Guild Wars 2 game designer, confirmed it: the level cap will be 80. However, there will be no leveling curve in Guild Wars 2, dragging out those final levels. Level 79 will take just as long to conquer as level 1 did.
