Out of a batch of 30 Mac Book Pros, about 20 of them required a Logic board change just after a year from purchase and almost all of them had batteries that puffed out within 1.5~2 years a lot of them almost about the same time. The puffed battery caused the track pad to stop working. Apple had to send a service engineer to our workplace to check all of them and replace batteries. Three iMac's has their Power supply circuits fried out recently and my own iMac works fine with windows, but Tiger and Leopard both cause it to hang up with the spinning wheel or do all sorts of weird behavior. I have checked the internals of many of these computers and they are as badly put together as a Dell or HP. We had far fewer instances of our HP computers going bad although they are no better in how they are put together. My own HP workstation survived for 6 years with multiple upgrades to ram and HDD. In any case, If you want to blow your money on sub standard branded computer whether they are apple or dell, be my guest, I would rather assemble my own rig with care and install whatever OS I want to run. As for laptops, I would rather buy a $800 Dell or Acer lappy three times rather than blowing $2000 on an apple one only to find that they are as bad as Dell.

DarthGeek

Comments on Nokia's VP talks N8, MeeGo 'milestone product,'
