So multiple moves to get to where you want to be if you want the landscape mode.

We have an Samsung Alias and two Alias II phones in our house atm and they use a simular design that opens as a flip phone vertically or as a full keyboard landscape mode depending on which way you flip the top section, but in one motion.

Surprisingly they are very durable and we have never had a problem with any of them so far, even with the 3year old Alias. So I don't think the design would be any weaker than any other phone out there. Certainly not as damage prone as full screen touch phones are.

dennisheadley

Comments on Sony Ericsson concept phone is as clever as it is unreal

And what about getting really crazy with some Rubik's Magic Puzzle mechanism combined with LCD touchscreens ?

That would really blow my mind !

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Drumond-Park-Ltd-1190-Rubiks/dp/B001VEIXNA

thewild

Comments on Sony Ericsson concept phone is as clever as it is unreal

I love how he's used Android, WinMo and iOS screenshots...

Phoenix

Comments on Sony Ericsson concept phone is as clever as it is unreal

Based on a similar concept developed by Psion around 2000.
