Only took a little while to fix. Also slingbox is an awesome gadget to have especially if you travel a lot. It gives you free cable (only have to pay once for the box) wherever there is an internet connection and the video quality is quite good especially HD. The problem is not fixed. My login still doesn't work. This isn't much of an issue for me as I've been watching a Slingbox on a local network this week, but the software trying to access the Slingbox server means it takes 2 minutes more on startup to determine it can't connect. They said the problem was my firewall when it is now appearant that the problem was theirs and they took my money. <br><br>When I couldn't connect Thursday then wanted another $30. I'm still having problems connecting.   Are they going to refund monies taken from customers who couldn't connect the last few days?  Do they even care?"<br><br>Dish bought sling and ruined it. Everyone that had a Slingbox before they came out with version 2.0 HATED 2.0 when it came out BECAUSE sling MAKES you make an online account with them.<br><br>Sling is the ONLY company that sells a piece of hardware that REQUIRES you to do this. It's pathetic. Sling even shut down the old forums due to all the dissatisfied customers and negative posts regarding their half assed "support" (if you can even call it that).  2 years after I bought mine the god damn PSU died -- dad cracked it open and found faulty capacitors, even looked them up on badcaps.net.  I had an open and shut case for a replacement, but sling "support" would not even hear it...wouldn't even say one word about it unless I was willing to fork over $30 -- I told them to suck me off and had my dad go down to radioshack and fix it for 2$. The capacitor problem on both the PS and the Solo box appears to be a major issue. First they force everyone on to the servers in order ot connect, then they cut the servers off at some point down the line as they sign more deals with DVR manufacturers and cableco/telco's to put the technology directly on your DVR.  Sling is a dead-end as a consumer product company.  This company had som much promise but squandered it through ineptness and lack of reponsiveness to customers.<br><br>And I agree with the prvious posters that connection speeds have dropped since they forced people on to the servers.  Why do you think they removed the bitrate and FPS measures that used to display on-screen from the latest mobile device software versions? <br><br>And spare me any of Dave Zatz's concern.  He was the chief Sling apologist for on the late lamented Sling Community Forums when he worked for Sling.
