i have one in my hand right now and it works great. (the delete works weird from left to right as opposed to right to left though). i have dropped it many times and it has even split apart once or twice but still works perfectly. I still prefer to use my Gyration brand windows media center remote / air-mouse and keyboard combo, but for $35 I picked up the black version of this and it works just as you would expect it to and has been reliable with an excellent range.

Typing on it feels just like typing on a blackberry. Works, but it is slower than typing on a laptop size wireless keyboard like on the Gyration. The touchpad likewise feels just like a laptop.

If you're happy with phone style texting and touchpad movement for your HTPC, you will be very happy with this. I know what you mean man. I own the original version of this thing. For the most part, it is a lifesaver. I so wish it had a d-pad and a trackball instead of trackpad. Hopefully one more iteration.

Do not buy one of these. They are horrible not just in build quality but also in the way they function. Does your PC go to sleep? Well, I hope you like having to unplug the USB dongle and then plug it back in after the computer wakes up. Otherwise the remote won't work. Do you like to write in all CAPS sometimes? I hope so because the CAPS function gets stuck and then you have to shout until it decides you don't need to anymore.
