Yxplayer and oplayer are both shit players. They can't play majority of avi's smoothly and without jagged lag, the few that they do, are out of sync. Cinexplayer is actually far superior and plays your average downloaded avi tv shows, although not x264 yet. Archos 5 supports it for example. Heck, I bought a PMP for $60 from China and it supports MKV.
What is more important than supporting the container, is supporting the codecs inside it, and being able to access hardware acceleration of the decoding process.

Unfortunately CineXPlayer isn't really any better!
It won't handle high res stuff and it takes a shitload of CPU\ram just to watch standard def (software decoding obv)...prob takes a huge hit on battery as well.
