MotoBlur/ DroidBlur*(?) never really lived up to its HTC Sense rival IMHO. I bought my phone on the strength of HTC Sense being there. I wonder how many Moto users can repeat that about Blur?

Motorola should accept the simple truth of it. It wasn't Motorblur that saved them. It wasn't the Cliq or the CliqXT or the godawful Backflip. It was the Droid, running stock Android, with a fantastic ad campaign on a great carrier.

With Android Froyo/2.2 Google has (arguably) created the most solid mobile OS foundation currently on the market, and if they now choose to focus more on the GUI, let them do it, effectively 'synergizing' what some consider the rather fragmented Android experience that exist today.

The thing is when Google created Android they designed it for skins cause thats the only way manufacturers can distinguish themselves. yes it sucks but thats just the way it is, at least you can change it so it's not the end of the world.
