I also believe he was mocking him for suggesting that the Panasonic HS700 was superior for being 60P.

I personally am happy with the quality of many prosumer and higher end consumer cameras. You can almost always bypass compression with the HDMI out. I also am excited by the new Handycam though I am the biggest fan of its limitations in frame rate.(BTW it isn't interlaced it is 30P but saved as 60i so you can flag for other frame rates).

That said if I could afford RED I would go for it in a sec. The ability to record RAW and the image quality is better then the competition even for the price. Of course I will have to make do with my EX3.

BTW it is a mixture of the person behind the camera and the tech. The tech opens up more doors. I could do amazing things with a Pixelvision 2000, however after awhile anyone watching it but me would get fatigued. You may be able to get away with a feature. But when I want a shot I don't want the camera to be the one to get in hte way. Thats why I like Tech!

redspear

Comments on

Red Scarlet= the GT5 of cameras

vaporware till it's in my hands

Phil

Comments on

@thrilla from manila
RED has been shipping cameras for more than two years.

read around before you talk.

pleaseinsertacoin

Comments on

@pleaseinsertacoin

for realz?
