Looking for a free
PlayStation Move setup and a bunch of useless schwag? Too bad you didn't sign up for Sony's Ultimate Block Party. In the vein of the hilarious
Windows 7 and
TiVo promo giveaways of yesteryear, PlayStation's thrown a virtual bash that actually requires a modicum of interaction to properly enjoy this time. As this isn't a retail Move package, there's no traditional unboxing to be had, but soon-to-be-host Phil does show off a demo disk (with eight titles and uproarious setup guide) that we pray will be included in the final kit. Other than that, the promo box includes your standard array of party supplies -- PlayStation Move cocktail napkins, Sports Champions mini-frisbees, plastic soda can handles, and the gift that keeps on giving: a bag of
Kevin Butler button badges. Because real boxers don't do Tupperware. Spot all the goodies at our source link.
That pic, LOL
Yeah. That pic is annoyingly funny. I'm like "Duh!!!"
@BlackedOut Was that iPhone in the red pic? Where is my iPhone. I don't care. I need my iPhone. That's wat she took from iMe.
They need to change it to "Bad, unless you hate the guy next to you."
@BlackedOut Which one? Can't see.
*Sent from iPhone4*. Its not pwnny. I m serious. Okay?
@Indefinite Implosion
The warning pictures in motion control games always amuse me. I swear the one on the Wii looks like it's hitting a baby off a table.
@Indefinite Implosion
Ha! Yeah, I forgot the lamp.
@BlackedOut

@BlackedOut I sense a new meme.
@Indefinite Implosion You mean the "giant lollipop controller"?
@BlackedOut I swear I read "Playstation Move Stupid Guide"
@BlackedOut (looking at the source link) They should have also sent this guy an in-wall wire management system, and installed it for him...
Hey I.got this from House Party, By now you should have received your PlayStation ® party pack. We’ve seen the fantastic blogs you’ve posted and we’re thrilled with the positive response around PlayStation ® Move and getting early access to try out the product. Thank you for being such gracious hosts. However, it is important to remind you that you agreed to the terms and conditions of this party, which state that you may not sell, exchange, or gift the PlayStation ® hardware or software before September 15, 2010. @BlackedOut
That picture gave me an idea. Now when there is a domestic dispute the phrase "My husband accidentally hit me with the Palystation move while playing God of War" will replace the tried and true "I ran into a door".
@BlackedOut Two birds, one stone.
Wow, I'm glad I didn't get into this one like I did the Windows 7 party. Why even bother if you can't actually show off the Move?
That image? Really? Could they just write 3 letters on the screen?
WII
Bad? More like Bad Ass Mother- SHUT YOUR MOUTH.
@Prevacator

Playstation sucks!! Long live Xbox!!
@dredaav1 U mean xbox360 or xbox 4. I'm confused.
@dredaav1 Long live the Downrank button!
I speak for the National Xbox Association when I say neither the Xbox nor the Xbox 360 consoles made by Microsoft are affiliated with this dredaav1 character you speak of.
I need my iPhone. Where is it? I don't care. I want my iPhone. Its not pwnny ok?
@metanup
It's up your ass, along with your head.
@Indefinite Implosion which badge?
Its wing guardian levi-O-sa, not wing guarian levio-SA.
Engadget fail: soda cans DON'T have handles.
@iucidium
http://onestopshopping4all.com/BeerSoda-Can-Handle-P927892.aspx They're like that except black with Playstation Move across the handle and a logo on the bottom.

They do now...
Clicking the source link fail.
@mairondil That's lazy, we dont have those in the UK. Were big and strong enough to hold a can. Honestly, that's a rip-off - $4.75 for a piece of plastic. Well stranger things have happened (like charging $30 for va piece of rubber)
@iucidium
It's not lazy, it's American!
@iucidium neither iphone. Gimme 5
@metanup *misses* d'oh!
@cbs31572
If you're the seller, I'll take all the badges (or one of each if there are duplicates) and two soda can handles. :) Let me know how much and we'll go from there.
that's bad?
oh!
I got one of the actual packages and it is a huge disappointment. A virtual party is likely just as fun. Sure, we got two Move controllers and the PlayStation Eye, but woop-de-do, the game disc is amputated demos that even if they were full games would probably stink. I have told all the folks I invited I don't think having a party is worth it, only gonna keep the invites for the little kids, older kids / adults need not bother. I would have been ticked off of I had paid for the stuff, it's worthless, it really is. Swing and a miss, Sony. Big miss.
@Bibbit
It is just a demo disc. I wish it included a full game or 2, but I don't think it's a miss. It's probably the same disc they'll send out to the Best Buy/Gamestop/wherever kiosks.
I'm hoping for some of my existing library to be patched for Move to be used. I'm guessing any that will be patched will be a week or so before the Move is officially released.
@Bibbit Seriously?!? You knew it was going to be a demo disc and you got well over $150 worth of stuff for FREE. Quit yer bitchin.
@Nightmare Look, I got $150 worth of stuff for free, and for that I am grateful. But the bottom line is the games it shipped with aren't even where the Wii was when it came out several years ago. I expected better from Sony. They've had years, years to study the Wii and come up with something to compete, and right now, based on the demo games, I think Sony has failed. I think it'll be a good while before it's worth paying for the PlayStation Move stuff. And that doesn't include the optional $30 controller that goes with the Move controller. They may eventually have games that make this worth buying, but for now I still say Sony failed. They sent me just isn't fun. That's not just my opinion, it's the opinion of the kids who have played with it as well. Their ages are from 10 to 22.
According to that picture, I can put the lamp on the left, but not on the right.
