Email!!!<br><br>See also ancient history (Hotsync) where the computer and smartphone worked together.<br><br>If I can use my smartphone for a dataplan on my netbook (like Palm is already doing at no upcharge on verizon) AND have all of my data and programs on a netbook/smartbook device along with a SIMPLE "phone" device... I think that would Simply make sense for on the go business people.<br><br>Simple is not iOS, no keyboard, no multitasking (until OS 4 came out), no bells and lots of whistles.  Simple doesn't mean dumbed down it means it simply works for people and takes a lot of the "manual labor" out of using technology today.  Simple is things like Palm Synergy, yeah it has some kinks in it, but it makes things simple.  My Exchange, Gmail and Facebook contacts are all one and merged with automation. Imagine the Dell Streak, but on the rare occasion that you make or receive a phone call (some people, like myself, don't do that too often nowadays), you don't have to hold the entire device up to your face. One of the biggest complaints with smartphones is battery life.  Now the core phone module has a simple UI with a low power, low res screen and just enough smarts to provide data services to the "fancy UI palmtop" that has more features and screen.  The core voice capability has long battery life and the fancy crap is separate.<br><br>Think of this as a netbook with a USB wireless modem stick but somebody grafted a cheap nokia phone to the the modem. Phones are on par with tablets when it comes down to processing power. All you need is a bigger screen and a bigger battery. So the actual tablet might be useless until you plug in the phone and then it acts just as a bigger screen and gives it more battery time. You have a phone AND a tablet but at much lower cost. Brilliant!
