The point of updating, at least when you jailbreak, is that you can enable the new features easily. When you use RedSn0w, you just need to check the boxes for the features you want that are not enabled for these older devices (multitasking, backgrounds, etc.) I have a touch 2G and only jailbroke it to have the native multitasking. I'm not saying that they're is nothing wrong w/updating, when you have a jailbreak. But w/Apples 4.0.2 upgrade, it doesn't bring anything new to the table, nothing that you can't get on 4.0.1, which you clearly can jailbreak. I just feel that it's just, again, pointless for anyone to update to 4.0.2 when it doesn't do anything.
