Which always wins in my book.

A point-&-shoot by Apple wold be awesome, considering it would most probably be in a metal chassis, have the amazing glass multi-touch screen, and (hopefully,) an internal zoom camera lens. (The type that extends from the body breaks if a single grain of sand get's in the mechanism. Which I hate. A lot.) Even if it was just 10MP and had 8GB built-in memory, and was JUST a camera (high quality 720p too I'd imagine,) and priced around $350, I'd still buy it.

I'm not trying to act like a fan or anything, but if Apple did make a camera, it would be the best.

APV

Comments on Fujifilm introduces Finepix Real 3D W3 camera, we go hands-on

@APV
You're describing a nice Canon point and shoot...they're delightful beasts.
Not nearly so good as basically any DSLR, of course...but that's to be expected.

collindow

Comments on Fujifilm introduces Finepix Real 3D W3 camera, we go hands-on

@collindow

I have yet to ever try a Canon...

I like the Sony TX1, it takes photo's BLISTERINGLY fast, and has HD video better than ANY other point-&-shoot for the same price, but the touchscreen is lacking... I've owned an iMac G5, a MacBook, a MacBook Pro, multiple iPods, etc. But I don't go around wildly saying stuff like "If Apple made ______ it would be the best and kill everything else in the market." That just gives Mac lovers (or iPhone lovers) a bad reputation; it reinforces the idea of the Apple sheep. I laughed at the iPhone vs. Evo videos, but this is like a strange comedy come true. In your world, Apple really could sell a brick and you'd buy it. Apple has no expertise in the modern camera market and would be stupid to try to make an entry into it without years of planning (and acquisitions of small camera companies). Yes, I'm sure the hardware and the user interface would be great (although probably lacking in buttons). But the camera part would most likely suck, and that would kill it. Now, a partnership with a dedicated camera company would probably be interesting. But I can't see Steve & co. teaming up like that. They like to have total control (which is good when they know what they're doing).

Sorry for the semi-rant, but comments like that make me ashamed of liking what Apple actually does do well.

rock38climb

Comments on Fujifilm introduces Finepix Real 3D W3 camera, we go hands-on

It's difficult to deny an Apple-sque digital camera would be something pretty sweet.
