I agree. This would be great for use at the conference table connected to one's laptop/netbook. You could take that combo anywhere: sales calls, business trips, out in the field projecting against the side of a semi-trailer, wherever. Probably could use one's phone as the input, too, if its been tweaked to allow USB hosting. This would probably be great for IT guys, too, who'd like to show multiple people at once on the spot how not to screw up in the future like the guy who called you did.

Couple that with the fact that it's a quite-capable camera, and you've killed two birds with one stone and made the price point reasonable.

imo i think they should be putting a Windows/Mac program that allows for Wifi picture syncing before anything for a point and shoot

wouldnt you want Wifi Syncing of pictures before you can project them?

Which of these are better? i want a camera that will last 5year+, i can afford both and am a bit of a tech junky (jailbreaking[when it was hard], Rooting phones, and a few other things) i want a camera that has the best for the money....these 2 choices are the best i found for my budget......

If you're interested in P&S style shooting, with minimum of fuss, or lots of live view shooting, the Alpha 290 is the way to go.

However, if you're more interested in proper DSLR photography, the K-x is a fantatic piece of kit for the asking price (it easily rivals the Nikon D5000 or Canon 450D)
