The Classifieds: Seven hours of Gondria

The Classifieds brings you weekly news from around the WoW community, including our famous Random Acts of Uberness. This week, we'll lead off with one of the best stories we've heard in a while.

Do you know Gondria, the spectral cat of Zul'Drak? It's a rare spawn beast that is highly sought by many hunters who are looking for a truly unique pet. It can take a player months to find Gondria, and there's never any assurance that Gondria will actually be found. Unless, apparently, you have a truly awesome guild.

Solaraxe tells the story of how the guild <Circle of Blame> on Stormrage (US-H) held Gondria for over seven hours. As a team effort, they defended the cat against the Alliance and accidental death. According to Solaraxe, they eventually kited the spectral kitty all the way to Grizzly Hills, where the guild's hunter was finally able to log on and tame the coveted beast. The real trick of the story, again, is that members of <Circle of Blame> kited the kitty for seven hours.

This is truly an epic accomplishment. If finding Gondria and helping guildmates weren't enough to make it an act of uberness, the sheer timeframe of seven hours makes it amazing. My hat is off to <Circle of Blame>.

Kdorf

from <Eternal> of Kargath (US-A)Cataclysm burnout had hit Kargath hard and only <The Iron Fist> was still working on heroic Lich King. <Eternal> had transferred to the server already with a heroic Lich King kill and bent over backwards to avoid getting the server feat of strength. One night while both guilds were fighting the Lich King, Kdorf whispered the leader of <The Iron Fist>. An auto-reply feature showed that <The Iron Fist> had already got the heroic Lich King under 20 percent with about 23 people still alive. Kdorf called all damage stopped on their heroic Lich King, giving <The Iron Fist> a chance to secure the Realm First. <Eternal> sat with Arthas spinning around under 10 percent for a good 10 minutes, giving the home team a chance to finish the content first. -- Beth of Kargath (US-A)

Employment: Guild recruitment

If you've not already started advertising for Cataclysm raiders, now's a great time to put out your message. After all, the release is only about a month away, and when the expansion officially hits the servers, we're all going to be very, very busy.

Send in your guild name, realm, a link to your guild website or armory listing and a sentence or two on your guild's focus (10-man, RP, late-night raiding, whatever) to
theclassifieds@wow.com.

10-man raiding and social <Blood and Honor> of Tanaris (US-H) is recruiting new friends and raiders for the upcoming expansion. We are actively running 5-man heroics and existing raid content as a guild and will be running multiple, 10-man groups in Cataclysm. We will be keeping the small, close-knit attitude of 10-man raiding with the advantages of a larger guild. Running multiple groups will also allow for flexibility in raid times. We have grown to over 200 members in our six weeks of existence and plan to cap out at around a 500-member roster.

Casual and serious <Fusîon> of Chromaggus (US-H) is a newer 10-man guild and we are recruiting several classes and roles for Cataclysm. We are currently 11/12 heroic ICC-10 and we are continuing to push for heroic Lich King prior to Cataclysm. We offer both casual and more serious raiding options. We will also be offering PvP options in the form of arena teams and guild-supported rated battlegrounds. Our raid nights will be Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays with start times at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. EST. PvP nights will be supported on Wednesdays.

Family-friendly <Blooded Dragons> of Uldaman (US-A) is now recruiting members of any level or class. We are a fun-loving and semi-casual guild that is family-friendly. We have Ventrilo, guild calendar, a tabard and a website. Try us out; if it is not a good fit, we will have no hard feelings.

Mature and social guild <Steel Toed Stilletos> of Dunemaul (US-A) is recruiting all levels and classes for a mature, social guild. Leveling for some, raiding for others, but a place to call home for everyone. Filling spots for members, raid members and raid leaders. A good attitude and a sense of humor are more than welcome; buttheads need not apply. Guild charter and application can be found on the guild site.

Need caster DPS and else <Best in Slot> of Stormscale (US-A) is a west coast, 10-man, hard-mode raiding guild ramping up for Cataclysm. We are currently looking for caster DPS and a holy pally or a restoration druid to help finish off our raid roster. Our main raid day is Wednesday with a second day to be determined once our roster is set. Submit an application to our forums if you're interested!

People first <The Tribe> of Aggramar (US-H) is looking for great people, not GearScores. We raid at least two nights a week from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. CST and we take raiding seriously, but never at the expense of real-life priorities or our friendships within the guild. Additionally, we create our own events like an in-game "Secret Santa" gift exchange around Christmastime and organized competitions (scavenger hunts, world PvP events, hide-and-seek, etc.) are just a few examples. We invite you to check out our charter and application forum!
