It's a wrap-up: Spike VGAs 2010

"You know what? I'm gonna call it: Best VGAs yet," liveblogged Joystiq's Justin Mcelroy. "I don't think I'm kidding."

"Bullshit! Major step back from last year," responded brother and co-correspondent Griffin a moment later, before conceding, "Okay, in terms of news? Maybe." (But "in terms of raw waja? It was the worst one yet.")

It might not be doing Spike's Video Game Awards show justice to separate the newsy bits from the embarrassing shenanigans, but we're doing just that, in this very post, for a couple of reasons: First, we all love recaps -- don't we? And second, there's simply no replacement for enduring the VGAs by watching them directly on your TV. Whether you tuned in or not this past Saturday night, you'll get the goods here, but know that we've neglected to round up some ... things.



The Game-Dropping
To attract viewers, the VGAs airs a number of "big surprises" packed into "world exclusive" video announcements, confirmations and desperation appeals (Hi Thor!). Here they are:
