Breakfast Topic: Have you met any WoW players in real life?

This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the AOL guest writer program that brings your words to WoW Insider's pages.

World of Warcraft is the largest MMO on the market and by far the most popular. It's nearly impossible to not strike up a conversation or make a few friends while playing WoW. After all, it is a game that revolves around taking 9 or 24 other people into a raid and defeating pixelated dragons with overbite problems. When you're in a raiding guild, you tend to grow close to the players you raid with daily. You may or may not know them on a first-name basis, but you know their voices when they come into Vent. You share stories about your toddler running through the house chasing the family dog with the remote-controlled car he got for Christmas.

What about taking it a step farther and meeting the people behind the avatar? I myself have only met two people in real life who I met first in WoW. I was meeting up with a group of friends after class for a drink, and one of the girls in our class brought her boyfriend. I had never met the guy in person prior to that night, but when he introduced himself, I recognized the voice almost instantly. He was my guild's gnome tank who was always cracking jokes. Little did I know, he not only lived in my area but was dating my classmate.

The other person was a girl I had been talking to for a number of months. She was looking at colleges and was going to be in my area to check out a local college. We met up for lunch and spent the afternoon touring the college I was already attending. I was scolded for doing the tour guides' job.

Have you ever met anybody in real life who you knew first in WoW? How did you know them in the game? Did you meet your significant other in Azeroth?
