WRUP: 2011's galaxy of games

Here we are at the end of the year two thousand and eleven (it's so much more majestic without numerals). Over the next few days we will announce members to our Best of Joystiq 2011 game society, along with revealing our staff's "Best of the Rest." So, stop on by this weekend for plenty more on those topics.

• Alexander Sliwinski (@XanderSliwinski): I got to play very little this week, so I'm still thinking about picking up Saints Row: The Third and opening this copy of Mortal Kombat just sitting here.

• Arthur Gies (@Aegies): I'll probably try to wrap up the main Skyrim quest, maybe play a little Jamestown. I don't drink, so I need something to distract me from the case of the sads I've got going on my last day here at Joystiq.

• Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert): 80 hours deep in Skyrim, no end in sight, but I really need to start playing this copy of AC: Revelations I picked up weeks ago. I'll also begin building a collection of FMV games, mostly of the Sega CD variety, as someone has to carry that torch in Justin's absence. Also, I'm moving to West Virginia.

• Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): I'll begin the weekend Joystiq's editor-in-chief and leave the weekend just some slob. I'm not sure what the appropriate video game diet should be to complement this transition so, instead, I'll break out an old classic: I'll be sanding the seats and legs on three Shaw Walker chairs and refinishing them. It's been an incredible ride, Joystiq!

• David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): I'll be playing that game where you sit in the dark in your stained sweatpants and cry over a bottle of hooch while asking yourself what you did to drive them away. Was it something I said? Please, baby, let me make it right! In all seriousness, I wish those guys the best of luck and love each of them with my body and soul. Mostly my body. They're sexy dudes! Oh and I guess I'll play Gears of War 3 this weekend or something.

• Griffin McElroy (@griffinmcelroy): I'm gonna play Star Wars: The Old Republic, and also the game where you're really sad to be leaving such wonderful and talented lady and gentlemen.

• JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): So I bought Blazing Lazers to test the PC Engine Archives functionality on Vita, and ... man, I love this game so much. It's my favorite shooter ever. The killer app for this system coming out next year is a shooter from 1989.

• Jordan Mallory (@Jordan_Mallory): I'm about to take on twice the workload and twice the responsibility, so of course now is the perfect time to start playing Skyrim.

• Justin McElroy (@JustinMcElroy): I'm going to doing the slow Bill Bixby Incredible Hulk walkaway as I hitchhike on to what's next, my gait slowed as I mull the totally fantastic Joystiq team I'm leaving behind. Also, Star Wars: The Old Republic.

• Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'll essentially be playing a version of the detritus Tetris found in the Resident Evil inventory screen -- as I pack my bags and prepare for the move to a new city, state, country, continent and hemisphere.

• Mike Schramm (@MikeSchramm): This is GotY cleanup weekend: Finishing LA Noire, Skyrim, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

• Richard Mitchell (@SenseiRAM): The only game I'm playing is "look for Kansas City's best barbecue."
