Mr. Miyagi is in Reality Fighters, really

"Augmented Reality" doesn't just allow you to see objects that don't really exist projected against the real world. Reality Fighters augments reality so much that dead people are brought back to life within the confines of the PlayStation Vita.

Well, one dead person. Kind of. Mr. Miyagi, the classic sensei from The Karate Kid, is your guide to Reality Fighters, and even an unlockable character in the AR fighting game. "Before we decided on Mr. Miyagi, we shortlisted various characters such as Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Jet Li and even Mike Myers," producer Mitsuo Hirakawa explained on the PlayStation Blog. "It became clear that Mr. Miyagi ticked all the boxes for us in terms of a true master who has a humorous side. The Karate Kid movie being a worldwide hit and a film that we were all huge fans of also helped a little ..."

Since actor Pat Morita wasn't available to voice the character on account of having died in 2005, the team turned to voice actor Jim Ward. "Jim's been one of the best voice-over talents I've worked with and he has great experience having worked on Call of Duty, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet & Clank and many more great titles," Hirakawa said.
