Scourge: Outbreak spreads to PSN, XBLA, Mac this summer

Tragnarion Studios, who you may (may!) remember from the DS game Doodle Hex, is working on a futuristic third-person shooter for XBLA, PSN (PS3), and Mac. Yes, those are the correct platforms.

Scourge: Outbreak introduces the "Echo Squad," a group of mercenaries hired to take out the Nogari Corporation, conveniently located on Nogari Island. Four players can team up to infiltrate the "alien-infested facilities," locate a double agent, destroy the Nogari, and gain control of the "Ambrosia" power source. Functionally, this means co-op shooting, with story segments coming through as flashbacks from the four separate characters.

Scourge: Outbreak will allow players to stop both the scourge and the outbreak this Q3, "later this summer."%Gallery-155912%

Futuristic Third Person Shooter Will Be Released Later This Summer
Palma de Mallorca - Tragnarion Studios, a leading Spanish game development studio, announced today an all-new futuristic 3rd-person shooter for Xbox®Live Arcade, PlayStation®Network, and Mac – Scourge: Outbreak. Set to be released later this summer, Scourge: Outbreak, puts players in control of Echo Squad, an elite group of mercenaries hired to deal a decisive blow against the power-hungry Nogari Corporation.

In the game, players will face a seemingly insurmountable foe in the alien-infested facilities and military on Nogari Island. In order to survive, they must secure their own double agent who's infiltrated the Corporation and then recover a meteorite fragment that Nogari has used to develop a powerful new energy source, Ambrosia - which has given them global control. In order to succeed in the mission and save the world, players will need to utilize all their skill, firepower and certainly their teammates to the fullest.

While defeating the enemies on the island and recovering the meteorite seem daunting enough tasks, these are not the only challenges players will face. Each of the four playable characters has their own agenda and influence on the story - these emerge via flashbacks as the mission progresses. In co-op modes the significance of these events can be discussed with fellow players over voice chat.
