Karaoke Joysound finds its way to North American Wiis this fall

Joysound

Konami has announced plans to release Karaoke Joysound, four years after its Japanese release, on the Wii in North America. We're sure everyone else who remembers this old Hudson game is as shocked as we are.

Joysound uses a streaming library of over 1,000 songs, access to which can be rented for one or three days, or one month, at a time. Contents of the library have yet to be announced, and we don't know the cost. For reference, the Japanese version was 300 Wii Points for one day, 500 for three, and 1,000 ($10) for a month.

The North American version ships this fall, and includes two microphones.

KONAMI ANNOUNCES KARAOKE JOYSOUND TO MAKE DEBUT IN NORTH AMERICA

Famed Japanese Karaoke Game Makes American Debut with Customizable Avatars, Mini-games, 2 Microphones and One of the Most Expansive Song Libraries Found on Wii™

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – June 1, 2012 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced KARAOKE JOYSOUND, a new product in the KONAMI karaoke family coming exclusively to Wii™. Already a hit game in Japan, KARAOKE JOYSOUND is poised to take the United States by storm by bringing singing and customization to gamers stateside. What sets this high-energy title apart from other karaoke games in the market is KARAOKE JOYSOUND'S innovative paid subscription service, giving each player access to an expansive library including over 1,000 hit song renditions to stream directly to their Wii™ console.

KARAOKE JOYSOUND brings out the inner crooner, boasting over 30 songs across all genres available on the disc. From there, players maximize their karaoke experience by accessing KARAOKE JOYSOUND'S music streaming service "on demand," via their Wii™ internet connection. Users can "rent" the entire music library for a day, three days or even a month at a time. With over 1,000 songs in the music library, KARAOKE JOYSOUND is perfect for parties, family get-togethers or the aspiring singer to hone in on their skills.

KARAOKE JOYSOUND is more than just the music. The title includes fun mini-games for players, allowing them to play alongside multiple friends, using the Wii™ remote.
This immersive experience essentially gives people the chance to create their own karaoke party in middle of their living rooms.

In addition to having one of the largest song libraries on Wii™, KARAOKE JOYSOUND also allows players to enjoy extensive customizations across the game. These features give players an additional level of individuality through in-game points that are awarded as currency. The better the performance, the more points players accumulate to spend on customizing everything from personal aesthetics (hair, outfits, etc.) to stages and backgrounds.

KARAOKE JOYSOUND comes bundled with two microphones and will be available in the fall of 2012. For more information, including screenshots, log on to www.konami.com/karaokejoysound.
