NintendoWare Weekly: Kirby's Pinball Land, Ace Mathician, Mighty Switch Force sale

NintendoWare Weekly Kirby's Pinball Land, Ace Mathician, Mighty Switch Force sale

We could get used to this – there's a lot to download on Nintendo platforms this week! The "8-Bit Summer" brings two 3DS Game Boy games, one you likely know and one you probably don't. You'll also find some new games, Johnny Kung Fu and Sweet Memories - Blackjack. The latter is, for real, about connecting with a high school sweetheart over blackjack games.

Mighty Switch Force is cheap this weekend, while DSiWare offers the fascinating-looking math-platformer Ace Mathician, by Flipper creator Goodbye Galaxy Games.

Wii

  • The King of Fighters '96 (Neo Geo, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points): This one wasn't on Virtual Console yet? It can be hard to keep up.

  • Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition (Konami, 1-4 players, 700 Wii Points): A modernized, expanded Frogger with some weird optional graphical settings – including ones based on Castlevania and Contra.

3DS eShop

  • Johnny Kung Fu (UFO Interactive, 1 player, $5.99): An original action game designed to resemble classic LCD games.

  • Kirby's Pinball Land (Game Boy, 1 player, $3.99): Kirby's a spheroid – why not put him in a pinball machine?

  • The Sword of Hope 2 (Game Boy, 1 player, $2.99): Save the kingdom of Riccar in this relatively obscure Game Boy RPG.

  • Sweet Memories - Blackjack (Circle Entertainment, 1 player, $3.99) Why yes, this is both a dating sim and a blackjack game.

  • "Game of the Weekend" sale: Mighty Switch Force for $2.99. Valid from 12pm EDT Friday through 12am EDT Monday, July 15.

DSiWare

  • Ace Mathician (Goodbye Galaxy Games, 1 player, $1.99/200 DSi Points): Use equations to create lines on graphs, which move platforms in the game world.

  • Candle Route (Teyon, 1 player, $1.99) Issue commands to send Sparky on the perfect route to collect candles.
