This week, SOE dazzled the MMO world by announcing a pair of new expansions for 1999's EverQuest and 2004's EverQuest II in addition to PlanetSide 2's beta bonuses and a new system for monetizable player-generated content called Player Studio.

Meanwhile, brand-new Guild Wars 2 struggled with security issues, community woes, and support outages, although studio ArenaNet has made headway in bringing the trading post and forums online, and the game's strong sales are hard to ignore.
