WRUP: It's like there's this Panda thing happening

WRUP It's like there's this Panda thing happening

Welcome to WRUP, where we tell you what our intrepid staff is playing each weekend. We lead it off with whatever witty commentary comes to mind... or we blather on about something. Either way, we lead off every week with about 100 words before you get to the important stuff: the staff's Twitter handles.

Once upon a time, we got a nice mixture of different games each weekend. You'd ask the staff "WRUP?" and they'd answered with consoles, PC games, and even some physical outdoor activities. Now, there's this whole Panda and baby theme running throughout the staff. Clearly, if you work at WoW Insider, you're going to end up pregnant or a panda. P is involved no matter what you do.

For added bonus, we asked what the best thing about MoP was so far. That image comprise's most of Joe's answer.

Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) Dungeon running for our first raid next Tuesday. Can't wait! Also pet battles... my god they're fun.

The best part has to be the overall experience. I've never felt like there's too much to do in WoW before, but now, there is just an absolute ton at end game to enjoy.

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) I'm probably going to be playing Clean the Basement more than anything else this weekend, but any WoW play time is likely to be devoted to gearing my druid for, and in, heroics. Spare time is likely to be spent on archaeology or rep grinds.

Best part of MoP? There are so many good things -- my farm, pet battles, the sheer beauty of the world -- but if I had to boil it down to something, it's the opportunity not to be a hero for a bit. Sometimes it's really nice to just slow down and help someone with their vegetable patch or love life.

Alex Ziebart (@AlexZiebart) I stopped playing at the tail end of Cataclysm due to terrible, terrible burnout, so I took it as easy as possible for the first week of Mists of Pandaria. I'm really enjoying myself now, so I'm confident I can make the final push to 90 this weekend without it resulting in hating myself. I really want to start expanding my farm in Valley of the Four Winds! When I'm not playing, I'll be doing some personal writing.

As for the best part of Mists ... if I had to pick one specific feature, I'd say the farms, because they're something totally different. We haven't had anything like that before. I just wish I could do even more with it than we can do now. If I can be more general, I'd say the questing. Questing in Mists of Pandaria is better than it has ever been.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) Playing Mists, writing a lot of stuff, and...well that's about it really, other than the usual household stuff! My poor games from the Steam Summer Sale are being woefully neglected. I'm sure I'll get back to them uh...someday. Bonus: I...really love farming. I don't know why I love it, I just do. And I am utterly loathe to leave Pandaria and go back to Orgrimmar, because it's just so nice to have a gigantic change of scenery.

Brian Wood (@frostheimwhu) Going camping with my tabletop RPG group this weekend for some gaming around the campfire. Highs in the 40s, lows in the 20s, which means no bugs! Best part of Mists so far is Socks: the raccoon that lived.

Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid, @alaronmonk) Still dealing with some family stuff, but I'll make time this weekend to hit 90 on the monk and start exploring endgame content.

Dan Desmond (@Antigen_) I will be forcing myself into heroics this weekend to try to gear out before we begin raiding next week. I think I have gotten two pieces of ret gear and six pieces of holy gear. I don't care if you think I should heal, game, I'm not going to!

My favorite part of Pandaria so far is the scenery. The art department really earned their checks this time around, the entire continent is just gorgeous. I often find myself taking peaks at the skybox when I'm in Dread Wastes doing Klaxxi dailies.

Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) I have a really, really busy weekend IRL, so I'm mostly going to try to make time to keep up on my Tillers and Golden Lotus dailies, with Klaxxi dailies or a heroic dungeon or two added in if I have time. I also want to at least meet the squad goal on the latest ME3 multiplayer challenge weekend, so we'll see how that goes.

My favorite part of MoP so far is farming. Halfhill and the Heartland is such a cozy, idyllic place. I just want to retire there and grow giant vegetables and sell them at the market and cook food for my friends. I also love how all the Tiller friends have their own preferences and farms and stuff, they're all characters and I love making friends with them, even without the upgrades to my farm.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) Probably working on my Siren in Borderlands 2 and leveling my druid. Maybe some pet battles?

Joe Perez (@lodurzj) Every day I'm Pandain'! seriously a lot to do this weekend. Dailies, crafting, enchanting, geming. ALL PANDAS ALL THE TIME!

Matt "Matticus" Low (@matticus) I think I'm going to try to participate in challenge modes this weekend. When I'm not doing that, I'll be slowly leveling up my Monk or another alt.

It's really hard for me to pick just one aspect of the game that's the best. For me, it's always gotta be the new raid environments and encounters.

Matt Rossi (@MattWRossi) PANDARIA ALL THE TIME and maybe working on next book ah
who am I kidding PANDARIA

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) I'll be grinding heroics to hopefully get the last few pieces of gear I need before raid next week. Plus tons of fishing to build up a healthy stock of buff food. Then, of course, wading my way through dailies as much as I can.

My favorite part of Mists so far is easily the Mantid. I love their lore, their culture, their little voices... They are the coolest new race in WoW in a while.

Michael Gray (@writegray) I'll be bouncing a baby on my knee.

Michael Sacco (@mikesacco) Enjoying Pandaria immensely.

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) I'll be playing a bunch of Mists, on Sunday anyhow, once I'm back home from Sweden. I want to get my shammy geared up in some PvP gear, and go from there, but being away for a week and without my beloved gaming laptop (it's back Monday) hasn't helped. Best thing about Mists? Hmm. You know, I'm really not sure! There are a lot of things I like a great deal, but none I'm really blown away by. Ask me again in a few weeks!

Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) Pet battles. Bonus: pet battles.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
