Your smartphone and / or tablet is just begging for an update. From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Official Android updates

  • Motorola Atrix 2: After a long battle, Ice Cream Sandwich is now available as an over-the-air update for the Atrix 2. [AT&T]

  • Orange San Diego: Users in Europe are reporting that Ice Cream Sandwich is now available as an update for this Intel-powered smartphone. [Android Central]

  • Motorola Xoom 2: Motorola has announced that its Ice Cream Sandwich update is now available for the WiFi and Media Edition variants of this tablet throughout Europe. [Android Police]

  • Samsung Epic 4G Touch: Sprint has released an incremental update for its Galaxy S II variant that fixes both VPN and MMS functionality when using a 3G connection. The software also adds the ability to edit out-of-office email messages. [Android Police]

  • ZTE Fury: This budget smartphone for Sprint is now eligible for an update that brings better battery life and improvements to the speakerphone. The software also tweaks the network component of the settings menu. [Android Police]

  • Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Nexus Q: Google has released the Android 4.1.2 recovery images for the Nexus 7 tablet, the HSPA+ version of the Galaxy Nexus and the global version of the Nexus S. Not to stop there, it's also released the first factory images for the Nexus Q, although this software is based on Android 4.0.4. [Android Police]

  • LG Optimus 3D Cube: LG has announced the availability of its Ice Cream Sandwich update for this SK Telecom smartphone. [LG Mobile (Twitter)]

Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery

  • Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G: Just last week, T-Mobile released its Ice Cream Sandwich update for this mid-tier smartphone. Now, however, the good folks behind the CyanogenMod project are helping bring the Blaze 4G into the Jelly Bean era with nightly builds of CyanogenMod 10. [TmoNews]

  • Motorola Droid Bionic: The road to Android 4.0 has been long and bumpy for Bionic owners, but it now seems as if the end may be near, as Motorola is inviting users to participate in a new soak test for its Ice Cream Sandwich update. [Droid Life]

  • Motorola Xoom: Motorola is now testing Android 4.1.2 as a potential update for the WiFi variant of this tablet. Better yet, the said software has made its way into the wild, which means that the pre-release OS is available for install today. [Android Police]

  • Motorola Droid RAZR M: A pre-release version of Motorola's Jelly Bean update has leaked into the wild and is available for installation to this Verizon smartphone. [Android Central]

  • CyanogenMod 10: Not only have CyanogenMod developers folded Android 4.1.2 into the latest nightly builds, but the team has also released the second milestone of the Jelly Bean-flavored ROM. [CyanogenMod 1, 2]

Other platforms

  • BlackBerry Bold 9900: Although previously leaked, Vodafone UK has made BlackBerry OS 7.1.0.714 available as an official update for this smartphone. [N4BB]

  • Nokia: MobileSyrup reports that Symbian Belle will not be made available as an update to Nokia handsets that were purchased through a carrier within Canada. So much for those promises of support through 2016. [MobileSyrup]
