Apple is expanding its business on many fronts. The company is broadening its retail store footprint with new stores, increasing its office space with the construction of new buildings and nearly doubling the footprint of iTunes with the rollout of the service in 56 new countries on Tuesday.
Apple announced via press release that it will expand its iTunes store to large markets like Russia, Turkey, India and South Africa. Selections within the store will reflect the local culture with offerings from both the local and international music scene. Customers will also be able to select from the 700,000 titles in the iOS App Store.
Movies will debut today in Russia, Turkey, India, Indonesia and select additional countries. Titles in the movies section will also have an international flair and will include content from big names like Sony and Disney as well as local distributors.
